Church Life
Life Together
At Cathcart United Free Church we believe that faith is lived out together. We are a warm and welcoming congregation and we love spending time together — not just on Sundays but throughout the week.
Whether you are looking for a relaxed social gathering, an opportunity to explore faith questions, or ways to get involved in the wider community, here you will find details of the many ways our congregation connects, serves and grows — both within our own church family and alongside our neighbours in the wider Cathcart community.
Fellowship Groups
Home Groups
Small groups of varying sizes with members from both Cathcart United Free Church and Cathcart Church of Scotland meet together regularly — day and times vary depending on the group. Activities can include looking at the Bible together, prayer, and informal chats. This gives us the opportunity to get to know each other! Contact us if you wish for more details.
Additional groups
We also have groups that do not run on a regular basis. Please contact us if you are interested in any of the following:
- Christianity Explored
- Discipleship Explored
- Talking Jesus
Prayer Garden
A quiet space for all to rest. All are welcome to have a walk around the garden, have a rest and a bit of quiet time. We have seasonal topics on display for contemplation and to pray over. We hope you will find the garden a helpful place!
Moments Cafe
A dementia friendly café — all welcome! Held on the 1st and 3rd Monday of the month, 2–3:30pm at Cathcart Church of Scotland. A warm and relaxed space for everyone in the community.
Quiet Spaces
Two opportunities each week to step away from the busyness of life and find a moment of stillness and peace.
Rest & Restore — Cathcart Baptist Church
Mondays, 9–10am
Rest and pray within the sanctuary of the church — stay for a short time or longer.
Quiet Space — Cathcart Church of Scotland
Tuesdays, 10–11am
Come for a time of reflection, simplicity and stillness.
Renew Wellbeing
Every Thursday, 10am–12pm at Cathcart Baptist Church. All welcome!
We participate in Renew Wellbeing, a national movement that encourages churches to create spaces of stillness, welcome and prayer for people in their communities. Renew Wellbeing spaces offer a quiet, friendly place for anyone who may be struggling with their mental health or who simply needs somewhere calm to be.
It is a drop-in café style space where hobbies and activities are shared or co-produced. There is also a quiet space open to the café for prayer, stillness and renewing.
This is a joint venture across the three Cathcart churches — Cathcart UF, Cathcart Baptist and Cathcart Church of Scotland.
